Crystal Method's 'Legion' Tour Begins
(RockAndMetal.com) (02/25/04)

By Michael Bennett

THE CRYSTAL METHOD SACRAMENTO, CA, USA - THE CRYSTAL METHOD (Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland) has partnered up with FUSE for a North American tour in support of their brand new V2 Records release, "Legion Of Boom," which kicks off here tomorrow.

The partnership includes exclusive announcements by The Crystal Method on the Fuse signature daily show IMX (Interactive Music Xchange), behind-the-scenes access with the band, tour date announcements, streamed interviews and a dedicated Crystal Method artist feature area on www.fuse.tv.

The tour is aggressively being promoted by Fuse with on-air and online efforts, including local and national print advertising.

"This is so great working with a channel whose main focus is playing videos, we are psyched!" explains band member Ken Jordan.

'Born Too Slow,' the first single from The Crystal Method's "Legion Of Boom" album, features contributions from former Kyuss singer John Garcia and ex-Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland.

The track, currently blowing up on the airwaves, has already cracked the top 25 Modern Rock singles chart.

"Legion Of Boom" sold close to 25,000 copies during its first week in release placing it at #36 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, a career high for the band.

Additionally, the album occupied the #1 spot in the main iTunes Store for a time since its initial release on January 13th.

The announcement of the 2004 Dancestar Awards nominations marked yet another highpoint, with The Crystal Method receiving nominations in five key categories including "Best Act" and "Best Album."

Accolades and hype aside, "Legion Of Boom" has been dubbed the duo's best work to date.

Full of dense textures, pulsing rhythms, and electric grooves, the album features innovative collaborations with Roots rapper Rahzel, San Francisco poet/recording artist Hanifah (formerly known as Sha-key), Lisa Kekaula of the Bell Rays, and instrumental maverick Jon Brion, among others.

"Together, Fuse and The Crystal Method are about to start a journey that will rock America. The broad exposure we gain by sponsoring their tour is significant in furthering the awareness and impact of our brand among true music lovers" explains Mary Corigliano, Vice President of Marketing for Fuse.

Fuse is cable television's fastest growing digital network, nearly doubling their subscriber base from 18 to 31 million households (Nielsen Universe, April 2003), further establishing them as the new music television destination.

As a "Thank You" to their fans, The Crystal Method has also announced that each person who brings along a copy of the inner booklet from their "Legion Of Boom" CD will get to meet the band following each and every show.
