NEW YORK, NY, USA - Artemis recording artists KITTIE are set to release their new studio album "Until The End" on July 27th.The album was recorded during the month of March at Longview Farm Studios in Massachussetts, and was produced by Steve Thompson (Korn, Anthrax). "Until The End" will be Kittie's third studio album. Their gold-certified debut "Spit" was released in 2000; follow-up "Oracle" was issued in 2001. Six of the album's tracks were written prior to last Summer's U.S. tour, allowing the band to try them out live as they trekked across the country. Drummer Mercedes Lander stated: "I have always believed that if you tour on a song before you record it, it always turns out better in the studio." "Playing the song live helps it mature and makes you that much more comfortable with the song." Frontwoman and chief songwriter Morgan Lander discussed her inspiration for the album's material: "Lyrically, I write about mainly personal experiences." "Situations, relationships, human nature and our emotional and physical struggle just to get by and be heard. Musically, I think what keeps is going is knowing that there are people out there who really love and appreciate what we are doing." "That gives us the desire to go on, no matter what the obstacle." Joining the Kittie line-up as the permanent second guitarist will be Lisa Marx, formerly of Seattle hardcore band To See You Broken. Kittie began the huge undertaking of finding a guitar player while working on "Until The End." Marx, who had met the girls at a Seattle-area Kittie show, immediately came to mind. She was invited, along with a handful of other female and male prospects, to the recording studio and the band's hometown to jam. "Lisa brings a wide-eyed excitement that really shows this is all she ever wanted to do," said Morgan Lander. "She has been playing piano and guitar for years, and has tons of touring experience." Bassist Jennifer Arroyo added: "We were looking for someone really solid and with something to offer, someone who could hear something and play it right off the bat." "I knew she was the one because she was very down to earth, friendly and was a really solid player." Marx replace Jeff Phillips, the band's former guitar tech-turned-guitarist, who is concentrating on his own band, Thine Eyes Bleed. Mercedes Lander commented: "Over the years, Jeff has become like a brother to all of us, and we have all grown up together both musically and personally." "We wish him all the best of luck with his new endeavors, as he is a great person and an amazing and talented guitar player." Copyright 2003-2010 Internet Music Media. All rights reserved.
