Blood Freak Back Together Again
(RockAndMetal.com) (11/26/03)

By Michael Bennett

BLOOD FREAK FARMINGVILLE, NY - With their unreleased 1990 album "Sleaze Merchants" finally out, BLOOD FREAK is excited to announce they are back together, after 12 years being out of action.

The band has already begun work on their next full-length album, to be titled "Live Fast, Die Young...And Leave A Flesh-Eating Corpse."

BLOOD FREAK are hard at work on 30 new songs for the album, which will show that old-style grind-gore is still the law.

"We noticed many of today's bands are playing way too technical for this style of music, and we wanna bring back the old way like Impetigo and Repulsion, and even earlier-Blood Duster", said bass/vocalist Jason Grinter.

"Lots of these new gore bands basically just sound like Suffocation and Cannibal Corpse and are trying to pass it off as being grind/gore when it's really just generic death metal."

"We're sick of those shitty American style blast beats that try to be grind. We want to show that an American band can play real grind/gore instead of all this poser shit!" added guitarist Jon Sellier.

BLOOD FREAK have been long-time horror/gore film fans, and have promised to up the ante on the splatter this time around.

"We've always admired Impetigo and their dedication to true horror/gore subject matter. They're still our #1 influence... Most gore bands today aren't even fans of horror movies and stuff which I think is pathetic."

"If you play in a gore band, how can you not be a fan of these kinds of films? I bet some of these bands have never even seen DAWN OF THE DEAD, and probably only know about the stupid re-make coming out next year!" said Jason.

"The new album is gonna have tons of gore and cheese! That's what this band is all about. Gorehounds will have a blast with this one, I hope." added Jon.

BLOOD FREAK plan to have an even better production on the new album, but still keep it raw and unpolished, as to avoid the current trend of clean sounding death/grind currently being be released.

The band will also have a new web site up soon, being done by Sly the "Gore Gnome" from FONDLECORPSE, a long-time friend of the band from way back in the early 90's death metal scene.

For now, you can check out the release of "Sleaze Merchants," which is out now on Razorback Records.
